Bowling Green, Ohio is a small city located in Northwest Ohio. It is home to one of the nation's top public universities, Bowling Green State University. In addition to being a college town, Bowling Green also has a bustling downtown area with shops and restaurants that cater to both residents and visitors alike. The city has been an important political center in Ohio for many years. Local politics are greatly impacted by the university's influence, as well as the surrounding counties like Lucas County. The mayor of Bowling Green is Dick Edwards, a Democrat who was first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. The City Council consists of seven members from each ward in the city who are elected every four years. The current council president is Mary Fannin, also a Democrat. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. Then we went a little further and added the dimension of magnitude. If the difference of victory was greater than 10 percent, the letter is upper case, and lower case if the difference was less than 10 percent. This allows us to see interesting voting patterns at just a glance.
